Established in 1998 by the Roos family, who still manage the lodge today, Battlefields Country Lodge holds a special place in history. Our journey began with the renovation of the old cottage, once a farm workshop, into 6 elegant en-suite rooms named Rosie's Cottage after Rosie Rogers, a beloved resident. We then took two old grain silos, located next to the original milking shed, and transformed them into 4 charming en-suite rooms, joined by a stairway. Although the milking shed couldn't be saved, the iron roof was repurposed to create a gazebo that now serves as a beautiful chapel for wedding ceremonies.

The popularity of our silo rooms soared, leading to the creation of 10 new silos, larger than the original ones. They have become a cherished landmark for our lodge and a captivating experience for our international guests. After a day filled with exploration and adventure, unwind and share a tranquil sundowner in our fully licensed "Lapa Ukhamba" watering hole, a cozy round bar nestled under thatch. Winter evenings become magical with the warm ambiance of a crackling fire.
